VANCOUVER, Feb. 5 /CNW/ -

WHAT: Skating reunion of Katarina Witt and Elizabeth Manley

WHERE: GE Ice Plaza, Robson Square

WHEN Sunday, February 7th, 11:30 am

It's been 22 years since they saw each other last, but that will change on Sunday, February 7th when Katarina Witt and Elizabeth Manley are reunited at the GE Ice Plaza at Robson Square.

Expected to be an emotional reunion, the women will lace up their skates and share the ice and stories of their memorable competition in Calgary. Touted as the "Battle of the Carmens", the event is still vividly remembered as the much anticipated battle between Katrina and American Debbie Thomas which did not transpire but instead, a spectacular performance by Elizabeth stole the silver medal and the hearts of Canadians.

Also on the ice with Katarina and Elizabeth will be young skaters from the Coquitlam Skating Club.

Katarina Witt is in Vancouver covering the 2010 Olympics for German Broadcaster ARD.

The event is open to the public and media are invited for filming and photos as well as an interview scrum after the skate.
