/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory & Photo Op - Safety training at CAA camp/

What:

Students from across southern Ontario will learn first aid, fire and bus safety at the annual CAA School Safety Patrol Leadership Camp from July 14 to 17.




This year, approximately 150 patrollers from the CAA School Safety Patrol Program will participate in the camp hosted by CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) with the help of community partners. For the past 46 years, the annual camp has been training elementary school students to become patrol captains who help their classmates get to and from school safely.




The following partners will be in attendance: St. John Ambulance, Oshawa Fire Services, Barrie Police Service, Brantford Police Service, London Police Service, Orillia O.P.P., Peel Regional Police, Windsor Police Service, Kingsville O.P.P. and the Toronto Police Service.



When:

Wednesday July 15, 2015




Photo Op & Media Interviews:




10:15 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. – Patrollers learn new skills with hands-on training and demonstrations about fire prevention, emergency first aid and bus safety.




12:30 to 2 p.m. – Presentation by Peel Regional Police Explosives Disposal Unit.
