/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Protest planned August 4 outside Ontario Health Minister Eric Hoskin's office/

TORONTO, Aug. 3, 2015 /CNW/ - Protesters will converge Tuesday, Aug. 4 outside Health Minister Eric Hoskin's office in Toronto to protest Hoskin's refusal to instruct the private, for-profit CarePartners company to bargain reasonably with its nurses and administrative staff.  Hoskins continues to insist that the well-documented problems with Ontario's home care system are somehow not his responsibility.

CarePartners' nurses and administrative staff have been without a contract for two years, and have spent almost four months on the picket line.  Nurses are paid by the visit rather than the hour, which means providing proper patient care and follow-up reporting (case notes) translates into having these healthcare professionals working for less than minimum wage.
