/R E P E A T -- Jerry Dias to speak at Climate Summit/

TORONTO, July 8, 2015 /CNW/ - The National President of the union representing auto, oil and gas and transportation workers across Canada will participate in a panel on transportation issues during this week's Climate Summit of the Americas.

"Canadians care about the environment, and I look forward to being part of the discussion about how to protect it and create jobs doing that," said Unifor National President Jerry Dias.

Dias will participate in the summit's Greening Transportation panel discussion on Thursday, July 9 at 2pm. He is the only labour leader speaking at the summit.

Daniel Hoornweg from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology will moderate the panel, which will also include Matt Rodriquez, Secretary from the California Environmental Protection Agency, Josipa Petrunic, Executive Director and Chief Executive of the Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium and Patrick Nangle, President Chief Executive of Purolator Inc.

The panel will look at the use of green technologies in transportation and fuels, as well as supply chain management, and will include a question and answer period.
