Protiviti Adds 'Work Anytime, Anywhere' Capability to Its Governance Portal
for Internal Audit

New Synchronization Management frees auditors to work even if disconnected from the network

MENLO PARK, CA, May 3 /CNW/ - Protiviti Inc., a global business consulting and internal audit firm, today announced it has released a new version of its Governance Portal for Internal Audit, adding a synchronization management engine that allows auditors to work anytime, anywhere, even when they are disconnected from the network. Protiviti's Governance Portal for Internal Audit combines advanced features with the ease-of-use and cost efficiencies of an online portal and allows companies to integrate internal audit into their overall governance, risk and compliance (GRC) programs.

Synchronization management allows auditors to access complete consistent, high-quality work more quickly, no matter their current location or network status. Once an auditor reconnects to the network, synchronization with the central repository takes place automatically, informing the auditor of potential conflicts with any data changed during the offline period. The offline feature uses freely downloadable applications from Microsoft and Google that are then managed by the Governance Portal. This technical architecture removes the challenge associated with other offline solutions that can be incompatible, expensive or costly to administer.

The Governance Portal is an industry-leading EGRC software platform that allows organizations to address multiple GRC objectives. A recipient of various industry accolades, the Governance Portal integrates Protiviti's proprietary content and consulting expertise with commonly accepted governance frameworks to establish a comprehensive platform that gives organizations the visibility and insight they need to manage and mitigate critical risk and compliance issues. The Governance Portal for Internal Audit enables organizations to automate the audit process from risk assessment through reporting; identify and assess risks through integrated surveys to simplify the feedback process; tie risks to key processes and organizations that feed the audit planning process; and easily integrate internal auditing into the GRC program.

"Protiviti's Governance Portal has lived up to the promise of improving our business and IT audits," said Peggy Sepp, director of Internal Audit at Sun National Bank, who has been using the latest version of the Governance Portal for Internal Audit. "We are always looking for cost-effective ways to increase the efficiency and ease of our audit process. We plan to use the new offline workbench with synchronization management to help us achieve these goals."

"The ability to work offline and easily sync work product with a central repository is a key for today's mobile professional, and we're excited at the technological breakthrough that has allowed us to incorporate this feature into the Governance Portal," said Scott Gracyalny, managing director and global lead of Protiviti's Risk Technology Services group. "As part of our comprehensive governance solution, the Governance Portal for Internal Audit will drive the optimization of internal audit processes and allow organizations to achieve enhanced risk monitoring and financial controls management."

The updated Governance Portal for Internal Audit with synchronization management is available now. For more information, please visit the Governance Portal for Internal Audit website.
