Press release No. 1 - By-elections in the electoral divisions of Beauce-Sud, Fabre, René-Lévesque and Saint-Henri-Sainte-Anne on November 9, 2015

QUEBEC CITY, Oct. 7, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ -  In accordance with an order issued today by the government of Québec, the Chief Electoral Officer, Pierre Reid, must hold four by-elections on Monday, November 9, 2015 in the electoral divisions of Beauce-Sud, Fabre, René-Lévesque and Saint-Henri–Sainte-Anne. 

Here are a few important dates for the electoral period:

 

Issue of the order

October 7, 2015

Prohibition to engage in partisan
publicity

from October 8 to 14, 2015

Filing of nomination papers

from October 9 at 2:00 pm to October 24, 2015 at
2:00 pm

Revision of the electoral list

from October 19 to 26, 2015

Special revision

from October 27 to November 5, 2015 until 2:00
pm

Advance polling

November 1 and 2, 2015, from 9:30 am until 8:00
pm

Voting at the office of the
returning officer

October 30 and 31 and November 3, 4 and 5,
2015 until 2:00 pm

Polling day

November 9, 2015, from 9:30 am until 8:00 pm

Electors may obtain all the information they may require as regards the unfolding of the electoral period by visiting the special section of the Chief Electoral Officer's website or by contacting the Information Centre of the Chief Electoral Officer. Electors will also find various information on the electoral divisions of Beauce-SudFabreRené-Lévesque and Saint-Henri–Sainte-Anne, such as the name and office address of the returning officer, the number of electors and the electoral map. 

Regular updates

Other information will be added to the website as the electoral period unfolds. In addition to the list of candidates, electors can verify if their name is on the list of electors and locate the boards of revisors and polling stations attributed to them, simply by entering the postal code and the civic address of their domicile in the space reserved for this end. From the website, it will also be possible to apply for a job as an election officer.

For a personalized service

All this information is also available from the Information Centre of the Chief Electoral Officer, during the week from8:30 a.m.to 6:00 p.m. The electors can also contact the Information Center over the weekend of Saturday October 31 (from noon until 5:00 pm) and Sunday November 1 (from 8:30 am until 8:30 pm), and on the weekend of November 7 and 8 (from noon until 5:00 pm). These extended hours are in force from tomorrow for the duration of the electoral period. All requests for documents may be sent to the Information Centre as well.
