MONTREAL, Sept. 24 /CNW Telbec/ - The media are invited to a luncheon and interview with Simon Jacobs, executive director of Shalom Quebec and curator of the exhibit "Same Cloth, Different Threads: the Jews of Quebec City, 1608-2008." The exhibit traces the 400-year history and cultural contribution of the Jewish community to the heritage of Quebec City and the province, with an emphasis on how a cultural minority can contribute and integrate into the greater society while maintaining its identity.

The YM-YWHA will make the exhibit accessible, free of charge, to all Montrealers, from September 30 to November 30, 2009, at the Ben Weider JCC in Snowdon. The YM-YWHA is inviting schools and community groups to visit, and is training volunteers as docents to guide these groups as they come though.
