Power Outage - Toronto Hydro reports power outage in the west end of Toronto
TORONTO, July 5 /CNW/ - Power restoration has commenced in parts of downtown. As of approximately 6:40 p.m., Toronto Hydro is reporting a large-scale power outage affecting the approximate area bounded by:
North: Eglinton South: Dundas West: Keele East: Spadina
Some customers are without power in pockets outside of the boundaries.
Six of Toronto Hydro's substations fed by Hydro One are out of service.
At this time it is unknown when full power will be restored.
Toronto Hydro is awaiting electrical feeds from Hydro One before it can restore full power to customers. When Hydro One restores service, Toronto Hydro will restore service to customers in stages. This will be necessary to avoid overloads caused by heavy electrical equipment such as air conditioners coming on all at once.
Toronto Hydro will provide more updates as restoration information becomes available.
