Poly Art Gallery Showcases Rare Bronze Artifacts from China

Ancient Chinese Bronzes on Display for First Time in North America

VANCOUVER, March 2, 2017 /CNW/ - The Poly Art Gallery, owned by Poly Culture Group, China's leading art and culture company who manages the world's largest theatre chains and operates the world's third largest artwork auction house, will launch its second historic art installation on March 4th, 2017. Sixteen ancient Chinese bronze artifacts will join the four bronze-cast animal heads originally from the famed Summer Palace in Beijing that are already on display at the gallery. These rare pieces are on display for the first time in North America from March 4th – 8th, 2017.

Following on the great success of the inaugural installation that included forty-two antiques from the Qianlong Period, the Poly Art Gallery went to great lengths to bring these sixteen rare bronze artifacts from China to the art gallery for local art enthusiasts to enjoy. Almost ten thousand guests have already viewed the first exhibition, with over four hundred visitors on the peak day, including countless private tours provided free of charge by the Poly Art Galley to over forty-five communities and business organizations throughout the Lower Mainland. The Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia was among one of the welcome guests who visited the gallery and shared her thoughts on the culturally rich exhibition.

"The opportunity to view these historic Chinese sculptures, which have never been seen outside China, is a sign of the deep ancestral ties between China and British Columbia," said the Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia. "To have these rare artifacts from China's prosperous Qianlong period on display in Vancouver is a celebration of our province's historic relationship with China. My thanks go to Poly Culture Group for establishing a gallery in Vancouver, and facilitating other cultural exchange, which is sure to benefit all citizens of our two great countries."

"These exceptionally rare and valuable artifacts dating back more than 2000 years to the bronze era of Chinese history represent a link between the past and the future. As the culmination of fifteen centuries of artistic bronze culture, and as the brightest jewel in the artistic crown, they symbolize the solid foundation on which Chinese civilization was built. Having these exceptionally rare and valuable Chinese artifacts on display here in Vancouver represents the strengthening cultural ties between our two nations," remarked by Poly Culture Group CEO, Yingchun Jiang.

On November 30th, 2016, Poly Culture Group commemorated the launch of its North American headquarters in Vancouver with a memorable concert by the China Philharmonic Orchestra and the opening of its flagship Poly Art Gallery in Vancouver. The Gallery occupies more than four thousand square feet of space in the heart of downtown and is open to the public with free admission.  This latest exhibition of rare Chinese bronze artifacts will only be on display for five days from March 4th – 8th, 2017.
