Photo and Story Opportunity - VCC's official opening of its new Aboriginal
gathering space

VANCOUVER, Dec. 8 /CNW/ - VCC will be transformed tomorrow. Media is invited to come and witness the sights, sounds and taste of Aboriginal culture as VCC, along with government officials and Aboriginal Elders come together to celebrate the new gathering space for VCC Aboriginal students. This supportive place allows students to study and access computers, meet with staff and Aboriginal Elders - all designed to help reach their educational goals.

The day's celebration includes Aboriginal prayer, drumming by the Coastal Corridor Consortium Elders, a witnessing ceremony, as well as speakers from government, Four Host First Nations, and VCC officials. Along with the college community, Aboriginal high school students from the lower mainland will be attending this important, traditional event.
