Gala celebrates 20 years of record-breaking events supporting Villa
TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - On October 26, 2013, The Venetian Ball
will celebrate a major milestone - 20 years as one of Toronto's premier
philanthropic events and the only evening that truly celebrates the
mystery and wonderment of Venice's Carnevale.
An evening of fun, food, and entertainment supporting the invaluable
work of Villa Charities will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention
Centre and promises to celebrate traditions of the gala, while
rejuvenating the experience with a contemporary and immersive
atmosphere. Guests will enjoy a spectacular performance from Canadian
music legend Paul Anka, who is sure to dazzle with hits including Diana, Lonely Boy, My Way, She's A Lady, and Put Your Head on My Shoulder.
"For the past 20 years, The Venetian Ball has been the crown jewel event
for Villa Charities and a premier event in Toronto's social scene,"
says Pal Di Iulio, President and CEO of Villa Charities. "The Venetian
Ball began as a gala focused on supporting Toronto's Italian Canadian
community but has since expanded to reflect Villa Charities' mandate to
benefit additional audiences. This milestone anniversary is the perfect
time to introduce our supporters to an enhanced experience - one that
pulls from our successful past but also welcomes growth in the future."
Guests will join emcee Dina Pugliese, Host of Breakfast Television, for a luxurious evening of Italian-themed excellence, featuring some
of Toronto's best restaurants and food purveyors, multiple layers of
entertainment, a live auction and, of course, a few surprises.
"In 2013 we will celebrate 20 successful years of mystery and intrigue -
our past, present, and future - at The Venetian Ball," say Mauro and
Adriana Baldassarra, Co-Chairs of the 2013 Venetian Ball. "The
committee has worked tirelessly to develop and implement an event that
will transcend the expectations of our guests. With Mr. Anka's
performance announced, we want to ensure guests that we have not
removed the tradition of surprise from The Venetian Ball - there are
many announcements in store for that evening."
