Over 80 MNP employees use first "Community Service Day" on Sept 23 to help clean up Vancouver Island shorelines
MEDIA INTERVIEW/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
VANCOUVER ISLAND, BC, Sept. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - On September 23, members of the media are welcomed to drop by and interview our on-site staff as to why they are taking the day to volunteer and help clean up five local sites as part of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.
A joint conservation initiative of the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF, the Shoreline Cleanup aims to remove shoreline litter to help create healthy waters for everyone, including the wildlife and communities that depend on them.
"One of our core values is supporting our profession and our community," says Garth Busch, MNP's Regional Managing Partner for Vancouver Island. "But you can't just talk about it, you have to walk the talk. You have to commit and then decide to take action. While there are lots of great charities out there, our team thought the Shoreline Cleanup was a way that we could make a difference and have some fun at the same time."
