Ontario Skilled Trades to Benefit from Northern Gateway

TORONTO, June 18, 2014 /CNW/ - The federal government's approval of the Northern Gateway pipeline will create thousands of new construction jobs, not just for workers in B.C.

"This is a major project, creating a huge demand for skilled trades from other provinces, especially Ontario's large skilled construction workforce," said Hunter Reid, CEO of TDT Crews Inc. "There's no question that labour mobility will be critical."

TDT Crews specializes in supplying crews of Canadian workers to regions across the country.

"The Northern Gateway pipeline will create as many as three thousand construction jobs," added Reid. "This is a real opportunity for government and industry to support Canada's skilled trades workforce, by hiring Canadians first for this project."
