OIPMAC's new online SCM Resource Centre offers the latest information on
supply chain management practices from around the globe

TORONTO, May 10 /CNW/ - The Ontario Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (OIPMAC) has launched a comprehensive online resource centre for supply chain management. This initiative brings together a vast amount of SCM knowledge from diverse international sources into one convenient location.

The all-new online resource centre contains articles, reports and research papers designed to help companies and their employees improve their supply chain management performance. Through strategic alliances with leading North American academic institutions, including Laurier University, Ryerson University and Michigan State University, the SCM Resource Centre features applied research papers that explore the ever-changing SCM field. Additionally, there are news links to experts around the globe to keep professionals up-to-date on cutting-edge developments in supply chain management.

"OIPMAC's new web-based SCM Resource Centre has been set up as a 'one-stop shopping' destination for the latest information on supply chain management," said R. David Fletcher, President & CEO, Ontario Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada. "Our goal is to provide quick and easy access to new and emerging supply chain management practices developed by leading companies, academics and practitioners."

With supply chain management impacting the bottom line of virtually every company, it is important for SCM professionals to be equipped with the appropriate tools and resources to perform at their best. The SCM Resource Centre provides practical ideas and techniques from a variety of sources that professionals can apply immediately to enhance the competitiveness of their companies and build successful careers in supply chain management.

"This is a great tool for supply chain management professionals at every career stage," said Gerald Ford, C.P.P., President, Cambridge Solutions. "Having best practices, research and the latest information in one online location means it is only a mouse click away."

OIPMAC is a provincial partner of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada, the country's largest association for supply chain professionals. OIPMAC's SCM Resource Centre strongly complements the Association's existing educational offerings. The SCM Resource Centre can be found at www.scmresources.com and it is open for public viewing. Visitors should check back often, as the content will be continuously updated with new policies, practices and information.
