KANDY Outdoor Flooring Awards New Franchises in Calgary, Edmonton
CALGARY and EDMONTON, June 16, 2015 /CNW/ - The job market may be tight across Alberta, thanks to the slowdown in the oil industry, but there's plenty of economic upside yet.
That's according to two entrepreneurs, Glenn Hermann of Calgary, and Dave Kennedy of Edmonton, who have taken their careers by the horns as new franchise partners for KANDY Outdoor Flooring.
"In Edmonton, people are still injecting money into their homes," explains Dave Kennedy, KANDY's new Northern Alberta franchise partner and president of Green Creations Inc. "More condos are going up and more are planned, so there's a growing niche for KANDY here in Edmonton."
"Oil is only one segment of the Calgary economy and everyone here knows it's cyclical," says Glenn Hermann, who has been awarded KANDY's Southern Alberta franchise. "Malls are busy, the stores and restaurants too. And we know that Calgarians love their outdoors. We're ready to help them get more enjoyment from their patios, balconies and rooftops."
Hermann left a senior management role in the construction industry, opting instead for a franchise ownership lifestyle. Kennedy is restructuring things at Green Creations, the sustainable design-build firm he started 6 years ago, so he can dedicate more time to his new franchise.
KANDY Outdoor Flooring expands home experiences with service, quality and choice in new outdoor flooring for condo balconies, ground patios and rooftops. Following success on CBC Dragons' Den, KANDY has experienced significant new interest and growth.
