CALGARY, March 4, 2015 /CNW/ - Annerin Productions, in conjunction with Blue Wolverine Media & Arts, presents OH CANADA What A Feeling! – Part One, opening August 11th, 2015 at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre for its premiere residency!
This rousing, multimedia theatrical production celebrates and honours Canada's remarkable musical legacy, which shines brightly at home but has also put the country in the spotlight on the international stage. Against a backdrop of historical and musical imagery, which brings the various eras alive, the stage resounds with the performances of the songs which became the soundtrack of our lives and times.
The brainchild of three prominent Canadian music industry figures: noted promoter and impresario Jeff Parry, Order of Canada recipient and former EMI Canada President Deane Cameron and distinguished music journalist Martin Melhuish, OH CANADA What A Feeling! – Part One features a live band and tribute singers, who spirit the audience away on an exciting inspirational and educational journey showcasing songs made famous by our Canadian music legends.
Following its Toronto run, the production, from which a portion of the ticket proceeds will go to MusiCounts and the Unison Benevolent Fund, will take to the road performing coast-to-coast in Canada's biggest cities as well as its smaller towns. This inaugural show is a first in a series which will shine the spotlight on Canada's distinct musical voice over the next two years as we head into Canada's 150th year of Confederation.
