TORONTO, Dec. 3, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, OASIS member agencies are proud to reaffirm our commitment to serving Ontario's most vulnerable, and helping build awareness of how all Ontarians can lead vibrant lives fully integrated into the life of the province.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic events in California yesterday that targeted a support centre for people with developmental disabilities. OASIS member agencies stand with the international community in condemning this violence and standing with society's most vulnerable " said David Barber, OASIS president.
OASIS is a volunteer-run, member-driven organization. Its member agencies serve over 65,000 of Ontario's most vulnerable citizens and employ 25,000 full and part-time staff. Its 180+ member agencies currently provide more than 85 per cent of all developmental services funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services.
