Notice to Media - The Municipality of La Motte Welcomes Journalists during Papal Conclave

LA MOTTE, QC, Feb. 28, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - A pressroom will be made available to press personnel present in La Motte during the 2013 Papal Conclave.

Cardinal Marc Ouellet, who is considered as a leading contender to succeed Pope Benedict XVI, was born in La Motte, a small municipality in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec (Canada).

The pressroom will be set up in the Pionniers room of the La Motte Community Center (90, chemin des Berges - basement of the former church). Public relations officers will welcome the journalists as soon as Conclave begins. The journalists will be provided accreditation to facilitate their access to municipal premises. The pressroom will be equipped with TV sets broadcasting live images from the Vatican and basic Internet access [not fully reliable for transfer of images or live web-broadcasting). A catering service will also be available.

Media representatives are advised to contact Anne-Marie Belzile to receive accreditation and communicate their specific needs (accommodation, transportation, contacts, technical support, etc.). As a result, they will be well equipped to cover the event as soon as they arrive in La Motte.

The municipal authorities will make themselves available to respond questions from the press everyday during the Conclave at a set time and for a predetermined period.

A press conference will be held as soon as the decision on the new pope is rendered.
