Notice: Flaxseed variety only eligible for lowest grade, August 1, 2015

WINNIPEG, June 19, 2014 /CNW/ - The Canadian Grain Commission is providing notice to grain producers and industry stakeholders that the registration for flaxseed variety CDC Valour will be cancelled. Effective August 1, 2015, it will only be eligible for the grade Flaxseed, 3 Canada Western/Canada Eastern.

As well, registration for the following varieties will be cancelled effective August 1, 2017:

  • CDC Arras
  • Flanders
  • Somme

Quick facts

  • Effective August 1, 2015, CDC Valour will only be eligible for the grade Flaxseed, 3 Canada Western/Canada Eastern
  • Effective August 1, 2017, CDC Arras, Flanders, Somme will only be eligible for the grade Flaxseed, 3 Canada Western/Canada Eastern
  • The Canadian Food Inspection Agency registers grain varieties and is also responsible for cancelling the registration of varieties. The Canadian Grain Commission designates which registered varieties are eligible for delivery into specific classes of grain.
