TORONTO, and LIMA, Peru, July 5 /CNW/ - Norsemont Mining Inc. (the "Company") (TSX and BVL: NOM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John Mears to the Company's Board of Directors.
Mr. Mears is the Chief Geologist for The Sentient Group, a closed-end private equity fund specializing in the natural resources sector. He is a licensed geologist in the USA and a member of AusIMM. He has over 15 years experience in exploration and mining.
Mr. Mears has served on the board of a number of mining and exploration companies, including Industrial Minerals Corp., an Australian listed company that is building the Coos Bay Heavy Sands project in Oregon, Nevada Star Resource Corp. (now Pure Nickel Inc.) and Azteca Gold Corp. He has successfully started and operated his own consulting firm and drilling company.
