TORONTO, Sept. 20, 2012 /CNW/ - The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has a new comprehensive source of information as it moves ahead with its Modernization Plan. The new web site, ModernOLG.ca, provides details of the Modernization Plan, how it is progressing, how it will benefit Ontario communities, where the money goes, and captures the latest media reports on the plan. This site also includes conversations about modernizing OLG, with balanced points of view.
"As we move towards a new OLG with a modern lottery and gaming industry in Ontario, we are committed to providing access to information and facts, as well as encouraging an informed public discussion," said Rod Phillips, OLG's President and CEO. "That's why we've created this web site. It's a one-stop source for details on the Modernization process."
OLG's Modernization Plan will increase its contribution to the Province by $1.3 billion annually, once it's fully implemented in five years, drive billions of dollars in capital investment and create thousands of jobs across Ontario.
ModernOLG.ca is being updated on a regular basis and is a helpful tool for media, stakeholders and the people of Ontario throughout OLG's transition.
OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, Casinos, Slots, and Resort Casinos have generated more than $34 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario. Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
