Latest online tool developed by the Canadian Diabetes Association allows users to learn at own pace
TORONTO, May 6 /CNW/ - Education is key when it comes to diabetes. With more than 3 million Canadians living with diabetes and a further 6 million with prediabetes, the Canadian Diabetes Association is committed to providing the necessary resources for individuals to make informed decisions about their health. The Association has designed a new online resource called the Healthy Living Series. Available at diabetes.ca/healthylivingseries - the series includes four interactive learning modules.
"The Healthy Living Series is an enhanced online equivalent of the Association's previously known Learning Series. The advantage of this online resource is that it can be accessed at any time of the day and individuals can learn valuable diabetes information at their own pace," said Anna Kennedy, Interim President & CEO, Canadian Diabetes Association. "We encourage individuals across Canada to utilize this online resource and take charge of their health."
The four learning modules of the Healthy Living Series include:
What is Diabetes?
This module provides an overview of the different types and symptoms
of diabetes including the associated risks.
This module provides an in-depth look at diabetes management, through
blood glucose management, preventative care and information on who to
turn to for help.
Small Changes for Healthy Living
This module provides an overview of the importance of living healthy
with diabetes and the small changes you can make each day to reach
The Canadian Diabetes Association
This module provides an overview of the Canadian Diabetes Association
and its various diabetes support programs and services.
Minimum requirements for these learning modules are Adobe Flash 9.x, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Sound Card on either a PC or MAC.
