National Chief Shawn Atleo joins his home community of Ahousaht in mourning
after a plane crash near Tofino, BC

TOFINO, BC, May 30 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, National Chief Shawn Atleo joined his home community of Ahousaht in mourning the loss of three community members and a pilot who was well-known to the community after a float plane crashed near Tofino on Saturday. He offered the following statement:

"Our whole community is deeply saddened by this unexpected tragedy. To the families and friends who are in mourning, please accept the heartfelt sympathies of the Assembly of First Nations Staff and Executive. As you grieve know that our hearts and prayers are with you. We wish you courage and strength as you honour the memory of your loved ones."
