National Airlines Council of Canada welcomes Approved Destination Status by
China

OTTAWA, Dec. 3 /CNW Telbec/ - The National Airlines Council of Canada ("NACC") welcomes Prime Minister Harper's announcement today that Canada has been granted Approved Destination Status by the Government of China, making it easier for Chinese nationals to visit Canada.

"This is a notable diplomatic achievement by the Government of Canada, and major news for airlines and the travel industry at large," stated NACC President George Petsikas. "We thank the Prime Minister for this important economic development with China. Canada's tourism industry and overall economy stand to gain significantly from the expected increase in Chinese visitors now possible through this new designation."

The National Airlines Council of Canada is a trade association founded by Canada's largest commercial airlines in order to ensure safe, sustainable and competitive air travel for Canadian consumers.
