More Than 500 Students Compete in Malvern Town Centre's Regional Spelling Bee
of Canada Championship

TORONTO, March 26 /CNW/ - Malvern Town Centre will be as busy as a bee from March 26-28 when more than 500 student spellers from the Scarborough area compete in the Spelling Bee of Canada NE4 divisional championships. MP Derek Lee from Scarborough Rouge River will kick off the event at 4:30pm on Friday, March 26th, ushering in a weekend of spellbinding competition from the brightest and best word wizards around. The 12-14 year-olds step in front of the judges first, with the 6-8 and 9-11 year-old contests continuing throughout the weekend. With one misspell resulting in elimination, crowds will be hanging on every consonant, anxiously waiting to see who will walk away with the NE4 championship title. The last students standing in each age category will be awarded a generous cash prize from Malvern Town Centre and will compete in Spelling Bee of Canada's Ontario Championship Finals later in the spring.
