An urban nautical get together in a unique maritime atmosphere for the whole family!
MONTREAL, Aug. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - The second edition of the Montreal Classic Boat Festival will be held from August 20th to August 22nd, 2010, Quays of the Old Port of Montreal (corner of McGill and de la Commune) where over 80 classic boats will be on display. A unique opportunity to reconnect with a maritime heritage and the wonders of naval architecture!
On and off water shows, activities, exhibits, guided tours
It's in a warm and festive atmosphere that fans and neophytes alike can admire these 80 crafts off and on water. On top of browsing the wharfs and talking to the leading captains, this year, the admission to the program is entirely free and includes a wide range of activities: Conferences, Maritime Photo exhibition, freestyle canoeing, assembling of miniature sailboats, remote control sail or motor boats, sail painting, sailor's knot-making workshops.

And the music...
A line-up of bands and singers will take over the stage during the entire weekend to perform music from sea shanties to contemporary jazz. Anne Duschesne and le Trio Arto, Makaya, Shavora, Sébastien Lacombe, Les Murènes, Kultchaz will be amongst the musicians.
Short performances from special guests Marco Calliari, Lucky Uke and Elisapie Isaac will add up this array.
Military Music at the festival
In collaboration with the International Festival of Military Music in Quebec city, the International Military Music comes together for an exuberant performance with more than 150 musicians from Brazil, Canada, Italy and Russia.
