Molson Canadian launches #ATasteOfWhoWeAre to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary

150 acts of Canadian character to be rewarded with personalized Molson Canadian Red Fridges

TORONTO, May 8, 2017 /CNW/ - Molson Canadian today announced how it will celebrate Canada during it's big anniversary with a national campaign called A Taste Of Who We Are which will reward and inspire the very best of Canadian character. The launch includes a call for Canadians to nominate people with real life stories that demonstrate the best of Canadian character. Molson Canadian will select 150 of the best stories, and reward each nominee with a personalized version of the iconic Molson Canadian Red Beer Fridge.

Canadians of legal drinking age who want to nominate themselves, or someone they know, should use the hashtag #ATasteOfWhoWeAre on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, submit a nomination to the Molson Canadian website, or follow @Molson_Canadian and comment on contest call-outs for a chance to win. Each story of acting with Canadian character will be judged using the following criteria:

  1. Connection: breaking down borders and bringing people together
  2. Class: holding ourselves to the highest of standards in everything we do
  3. Celebration: living with Joie de Vivre and celebrating the best in life
  4. Commitment: the determination to go to extra lengths. Even when it seems impossible
  5. Contribution: leaving things better than when we found them

"It is our unique strength of character that makes us stand apart, and Molson Canadian wants to celebrate special individuals across this great country during this milestone year by giving them a memorable reward from Canada's beer."

#ATasteOfWhoWeAre was inspired by a quote from founder John Molson, who in 1782 said "we are all members of a larger community, which depends on everyone playing their part".  In a nod to Molson's deep roots in Canada, seventh generation Molson family member and Molson Coors Chairman Geoff Molson appears in the A Taste Of Who We Are TV advertisement and is seen amongst the Molson Canadian Red Beer Fridges.

The Molson Canadian Red Beer Fridge has figured prominently in Molson Canadian campaigns. The Passport Red Fridge gave Canadians abroad a taste of home, it was also sent to Indonesia to reunite best friends, and most recently the Global Red Beer Fridge used language recognition technology to celebrate Canada's diversity.

Molson Canadian is also giving Canadians a unique experience with the return of the iconic Canadian stubby bottle for the first time since 1982.
