BURNABY, BC, Dec. 22 /CNW/ - For the ninth consecutive year, Boxing Day is arriving early at Future Shop. On December 23, Canadians can visit www.futureshop.ca to view the retailer's Boxing Day flyer and get a sneak peek at the best deals on consumer electronics. Starting December 24 at 8:00 p.m. EST, millions are expected to shop at Canada's leading e-commerce website to participate in Future Shop's annual sale to take advantage of the lowest prices of the year before Boxing Day even starts.
"Our annual Boxing Day extravaganza kicks off at www.futureshop.ca on December 24 and will draw more than 5.5 million Canadians to the site. We're also expecting millions to step foot in our stores across the country on Boxing Day," said Nikki Hellyer, Director of Marketing, Future Shop. "Future Shop will offer customers what they expect from us on the biggest sales day of year - unbelievable pricing and selection both online and in-store."
For those who prefer traditional in-store shopping, many Future Shop stores are opening at 6:00 a.m. on December 26th (and December 27th in some provinces). Thousands of Canadians will line up outside store locations across the country in anticipation of the year's lowest prices on consumer electronics. A flurry of activity is taking place inside Future Shop stores on December 26/27 as consumers purchase HDTVs, blu-ray players, washer/dryer pairs, laptops, computers, MP3 players, cellular phones, GPS units, video games, movies, as well as many other consumer electronics marked at the best prices of 2009.
Media invited to take advantage of 'Open media policy' on Boxing Day
Continuing with Future Shop's open media policy for the entire month of December, members of the media are invited into all 144 Future Shop stores to capture all the Boxing Day action. Simply ask for the General Manager or Operations Manager at the Customer Service desk upon arrival.

In Quebec, Future Shop stores will open at 1:00 p.m. local time; the Gatineau, QC store opens at 10:00 a.m. local time.
