Miller Genuine Draft partners with The Chainsmokers for Miller SoundClash 2017

An aspiring Canadian DJ could have the chance to perform ahead of The Chainsmokers at top nightclub in Las Vegas

TORONTO, April 24, 2017 /CNW/ - The Chainsmokers have partnered with Miller Genuine Draft to perform as part of Miller SoundClash 2017 – a search for the world's most exciting new DJ talent. The contest is currently open and Canadian DJs can enter immediately by heading to millersoundclash.com for details.

The Chainsmokers have taken over the music scene with their club residencies in top nightclubs and string of hits, recently collaborating with Coldplay for 'Something Just Like This', their Grammy award winning hit, 'Don't Let Me Down' and chart-topping hit, 'Paris'.

Countries around the world are currently recruiting DJs who will represent them at a five day finale in Las Vegas. Canadians will have the chance to enter and participate in regional finals taking place in both Toronto and Vancouver in June, with two Canadian finalists being selected to participate in the finale in Las Vegas. Taking place August 9 to August 13, 2017 the international finale will see DJs battle it out for 20 minutes each while judges consider who is deserving to take home the title of Miller SoundClash winner. The winner then performs ahead of The Chainsmokers in a top nightclub to end the event on a high.

In 2015, Canadian DJ FeelGoodSmalls finished second at the finals in Las Vegas and is currently DJing in London, England.

The highly anticipated event is the culmination of a six-month global search for the world's most exciting new DJ talent by Miller Genuine Draft in partnership with leading dance music magazine DJ Mag, Aftercluv Dancelab, Universal Music's Latin American dance label, streaming platform Mixcloud and DJ merchandise partner V-Moda.

The ultimate prize includes a deal with Aftercluv Dancelab the first major label operating in the entire Latin American region, dedicated 100 per cent to dance music. The label will be supporting the winner in creating their first music video as a SoundClash champion and additionally, will back the top three finalists with the opportunity to release a single and offer development with A&R services. The winning DJ will have help launching their career with sponsorship from premium DJ merchandise provider V-Moda and the opportunity to perform at some of dance music's most exciting global events, thanks to DJ Mag.

In Las Vegas The Chainsmokers will announce the winner of Miller SoundClash and hand over the ultimate prize to the winning DJ as well as take part in a meet and greet with the DJs. From April 14, Miller Genuine Draft will be launching a series of webisodes on their social channels, showcasing The Chainsmokers' influences and inspirations to encourage DJs and fans to enter Miller SoundClash.
