(TSX V: MNO) ("Meridian" or the "Company"), today announced that the board of directors of the Company has approved the grant of an aggregate of 8,456,166 options (the "Options") to purchase common shares in the capital of the Company to certain directors, officers, employees, and consultants of the Company. The Options are exercisable at a price of $0.44 per common share for a term of five years, until May 17, 2022. The granting of the Options is subject to regulatory acceptance of applicable filings.The Options shall be exercisable, subject to the receipt by the Company of any required regulatory approval, four months after the grant.
Meridian Mining S.E. is focused on the acquisition, exploration, development and mining activities in Brazil. The Company is currently focused on exploring and developing the Jaburi manganese and gold projects, the Bom Futuro tin JV area, and adjacent areas in the state of Rondônia. The Company employs a two-pronged strategy with the objective of growing pilot production while advancing a parallel multi-commodity regional exploration program. Meridian is currently producing high grade manganese at its project located at Espigão de Oeste.
