Member of Parliament Shelly Glover Honours Veterans during the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada Dominion Convention in Winnipeg Français
WINNIPEG, Sept. 23, 2012 /CNW/ - On behalf of the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, Shelly Glover, Member of Parliament for Saint-Boniface, participated in a commemorative ceremony organized by the Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) in Winnipeg today.
"Our Government is pleased to participate in important ceremonies like this and show our support for those who work so hard on behalf of our country's Veterans," said Minister Blaney. "Our Government truly values AVAVETS' contribution to ensuring Canada's Veterans continue to receive the honour and support they so rightly deserve."
As part of today's ceremony to honour Canada's Veterans, MP Shelly Glover laid a wreath at the War Memorial Cenotaph on behalf of the Government of Canada. The ceremony and parade were part of ANAVETS 51st Biennial Dominion Convention being held in Winnipeg.
"As we take time today during this ceremony to remember those who have fallen, we applaud ANAVETS for their continued efforts to keep the memory of our Veterans alive in the hearts of Canadians." said MP Glover. "We wish AVAVETS a productive convention and continued success with the important work they do."
