Media Opportunity - Canadian Food Inspection Agency's Deputy Chief Food Safety Officer to Speak on the Food Recall Process

OTTAWA, July 27, 2017 /CNW/ - With summer now in full swing, Canadians should keep in mind the importance of food safety and the important steps the Canadian Food Inspection Agency takes in keeping them safe. The CFIA is inviting media to have an interview opportunity with Dr. Aline Dimitri, Deputy Chief Food Safety Officer of Canada, to discuss the CFIA's food recall process, as well as the crucial roles the CFIA, industry and Canadian consumers play in ensuring Canada's food is safe.

While there have been several recalls that have drawn public attention in recent months, this is an opportunity to provide insight into the work of the Agency and highlight everyone's part in Canada's food safety system.

If you are interested in participating in this opportunity, please contact CFIA Media Relations to schedule an interview.
