VANCOUVER, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - Squamish Nation a Host First Nation will host a Traditional Welcome Ceremony for The New Zealand Olympic Team. The New Zealand Olympic Team will be welcomed by Squamish on behalf of the Four Host First Nations (FHFN) to the shared traditional territories of Lil'wat, Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

The Traditional Welcome Ceremony will showcase our rich and diverse cultural traditions of drumming, singing, and dancing between two Indigenous Peoples. Squamish Nation will welcome 89 representatives of the New Zealand Olympic Team.

        Chief Gilbert Jacob - Chief, Squamish Nation & Board Member, VANOC
        Jonathon Coleman - Associate Minister of Tourism for New Zealand
        Barry Maister - Secretary General, New Zealand Olympic Committee
