Media Advisory: RNs kick-start 2011 provincial election with release of
comprehensive policy recommendations for political parties
The nurses' election platform, Creating Vibrant Communities, is being released on Thursday during the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario's (RNAO) Annual Day at Queen's Park. The platform outlines policy recommendations in six key areas: social determinants of health; the environment; enhancing Medicare; improving access to nursing services; building a nursing career in Ontario; and strengthening public services.

In the afternoon, nurses will attend meetings with 60 MPPs and their political staff to talk about the issues that concern the people who live in their communities.
