Prevention 2010
MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 15 /CNW/ - Partners in Prevention 2010: Ontario Health & Safety Conference & Trade Show, running May 4 - 5, promises to be an exciting event jam-packed with an impressive lineup of motivating speakers, innovative sessions, and a dynamic trade show.
Partners in Prevention 2010, which includes the original team members who presented the Health & Safety Canada IAPA Conference & Trade Show, takes this event to new heights by bringing together an expanded team of dedicated health and safety professionals from 12 Ontario industry sectors. Hosted by the Ontario workplace health and safety system, Partners in Prevention 2010 builds on past traditions and raises the bar once again. This year, Partners in Prevention 2010 will take place at the International Centre located at 6900 Airport Road in Mississauga.
Two pre-conference events on May 3 will lead up to the opening of the conference and trade show. Small Business Forum 2010 will help small businesses discover how to improve the profitability and sustainability of their business. Leadership Summit 2010 will empower business leaders to strategically build a winning workplace culture.
The conference takes place May 4 and 5 and features leading-edge sessions and workshops on healthy workplaces, workplace violence, ergonomics, major hazards, legislation, and more. Partners in Prevention 2010 is sure to be an engaging, interactive, and meaningful experience. Delegates will be able to expand their health and safety knowledge, while developing practical tools to assist them in reducing injuries, illnesses, and fatalities in their workplaces.

Trade Show, May 4 -5, 2010 --------------------------
Three other trade shows will be co-locating with Partners in Prevention 2010.
Together, Partners in Prevention 2010, the Canadian Environmental Conference and Tradeshow (CANECT), the Machine Automation Safety Congress (MASC), and Your Workplace will showcase more than 400 exhibitors and thousands of health and safety products, services, and solutions. In addition, both CANECT and Your Workplace will be offering sessions to their respective conference attendees.
The trade show has a number of exciting features including the Healthy Living Stage with interactive demonstrations of practical wellness applications, such as blood pressure, cholesterol and stress testing, nutrition and fitness, gait scanning, leg and foot massages, and more. The trade show floor will also house a Bookstore, the one-stop shop for health and safety references, business publications, training resources, multimedia, and more.
About the Ontario Workplace Health and Safety System ----------------------------------------------------
Ontario's workplace health and safety system recently restructured its programs and services to better assist Ontario businesses in reducing the number of injuries, illnesses, and fatalities in their workplaces. As a result of these changes, 12 of the province's health and safety associations have amalgamated to form four new organizations, effective January 1, 2010. Combined, these four organizations serve more than 236,000 Ontario businesses. The four new organizations are: Health and Safety Association for Government Services (HSAGS), Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), Safe Workplace Promotion Services Ontario (SWPSO), and Workplace Safety North (WSN).
