Media Advisory - Six Toronto rappers to perform at Jarvis Collegiate to
promote higher education

TORONTO, Dec. 14 /CNW/ - Six professional rappers will perform at Jarvis Collegiate at noon on Tues., Dec. 15, as part of a promotional event to encourage high school students to explore the programs available at Ontario's public colleges.

The rappers appearing at the event are Famous, Rochester, Masia One, Theo3, Shaun Boothe and Blake Carrington, who are all from the Urban Music Association of Canada.

The Jarvis students will then be encouraged to record their own videos where they rap about their plans for furthering their education after high school. The most popular video recorded at the school, based on online votes, will win that student rapper a netbook portable computer.

The visit is part of the Ontario colleges' provincewide advertising campaign promoting the options available in higher education. The campaign, called "It's all about M.E.," encourages students to pursue the postsecondary programs that best suit their interests and strengths.
