Media Advisory - Signing of MOU between Scouts Canada and Duke of Edinburgh's
Award

OTTAWA, March 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Media are advised that His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex, Steve Kent, Chief Commissioner of Scouts Canada, and Tom McGrath, National President of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Scouts Canada and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards on Friday, March 19 at 11:30 am in Vancouver. The signing follows a Gold Ceremony in which individuals will receive their Duke of Edinburgh's Awards.

This MOU will formalize the cooperative relationship that has existed on an international level between the two organizations for many years. It recognizes the inherent similarities between both organizations' major high-level awards.

    
    Who: The following individuals will be attending the (event):
    His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex, Steve Kent, Chief Commissioner and
    Chair of the Board of Governors - Scouts Canada, and Tom McGrath,
    National President of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

    What: Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Duke of Edinburgh's
    Award and Scouts Canada. Chief Commissioner Steve Kent will be available
    for interviews following the signing.

    When: Friday, March 19
          11:30 am PST (directly after awards ceremony)

    Where: Point Grey Secondary School Auditorium, 5350 East Boulevard,
           Vancouver.
