TORONTO, Oct. 21 /CNW/ - Join us for an evening of food, fun, auctions, casino games and entertainment. This premier gala provides an exciting opportunity for Torontonians to support Fred Victor Centre's Women's Services Group of Programs, which provide crucial support to the growing population of homeless and marginalized women in Toronto. Gala goers will be entertained by the Toronto All-Star Big Band, and dancers and flappers, courtesy of Hogtown Swing. There will be celebrity guests and surprise activities, as well as a gourmet dinner and an extensive silent and live auction. The fundraising goal of this year's premiere gala is $150,000.00.
The Annual Mary Sheffield Award will be presented to Angela Robertson, Director of Corporate Diversity and Community Partnerships at Women's College Hospital. She will be recognized at the gala for her many years of providing exceptional service, vision and leadership in addressing the issues of homelessness and poverty in Toronto. Robertson is respected and admired for her work in influencing policy changes that affect the social conditions that endanger women's welfare, and working towards systemic change in the health and social services sector.
Fred Victor Centre's Annual Fundraising Gala has become one of the most sought after events in town. Thanks to the impressive support of our sponsors and community partners including State Street Canada, Ivanhoe Cambridge, and Carlson Marketing Group, we have raised more than $950,000 over the past 13 years. Tickets are still available at http://www.fredvictor.org/gala or by contacting Fred Victor Centre 416-364-8228 X 309.
