MONTREAL, Jan. 20 /CNW Telbec/ - Medicines packed in Physician Travel Packs (hand-carried mobile medical kits) and donated by Canada's pharmaceutical industry through Health Partners International of Canada are being given to Haitian-Canadian doctors headed back to their home country to help in the relief effort. The handover will take place at the Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal.

Heath Partners International of Canada (HPIC) is a relief and development organization dedicated to increasing access to medicine and improving health in the developing world. HPIC is working with its partners, both in Canada and in Haiti, on a significant mobilization of medical aid. Medical teams on the ground are equipped with PTPs, more are leaving shortly and HPIC is working on major shipments with NGOs, such as UNICEF and World Vision.
HPIC is the main channel for the Canadian pharmaceutical industry's donations of medicine.
