MEDIA ADVISORY - Ombudsman to release report on disproportionate access to helicopter emergency medical services for rural workers

NANAIMO, BC, Jan. 31, 2017 /CNW/ - BC Forest Safety Ombudsman Roger Harris will release his report reviewing access to helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) on Wednesday, February 1.  The report reviews the discrepancies that exist in the provision of HEMS to forestry workers and their families in rural regions of the province compared to workers in urban centres and its potential implications for medical outcomes.

Copies of the report will be provided to media at 10:00 a.m. and the Ombudsman will be available for interviews after 10:30 a.m.
