Local media are invited to join Mr. Lube in presenting a Thunder Bay resident with a new Ford Fusion Hybrid

VANCOUVER, Jan. 7 /CNW/ - A loyal Mr. Lube customer will start the New Year off in winning style by driving home in a new Ford Fusion Hybrid. Representatives from Mr. Lube, Canada's leading quick lube provider, will present the prize to a lucky recipient this Wednesday, January 13th in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

The national 'Change Oil. Win Big. Freak Out' promotion was the first of its kind to be offered by Mr. Lube, running from September 14th to November 8th, 2009. The grand prize includes a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid complete with free Mobil 1 oil changes for the next three years.

"We recognize that it has been a challenging financial time for many of our customers. As a result, most are looking for ways to make sure their money goes farther," said Brent Cuthbertson, Vice President of Marketing, Mr. Lube Canada. "Fortunately, regular maintenance can go a long way in extending the life of a vehicle and protecting what many consider to be a prized asset. That's why we wanted to provide an incentive, in addition to our affordability and convenience, to ensure that our customers keep their automobiles maintained and safely on the road."

For the winner, announced today, customer loyalty has paid off in spades, Blain Boyd, a local resident of Thunder Bay, has not only trusted Mr. Lube for the past decade, he has attended the same franchise year in and year out.

"I've been a Mr. Lube customer for many, many years, through several vehicles," said Blain, 39. "I have always visited the location on Arthur Street and have trusted them time and time again. Now, I'm excited to be coming back to them with my new car."

Boyd was not the only winner in this promotion. Customers across the country who purchased an oil change from Mr. Lube during the promotional period received a scratch and win card. Each card offered a chance to instantly win discounts on select Mr. Lube maintenance services and other instant prizes.

"We're not only thrilled that the winner was selected from our local franchise, but that such a deserving customer was selected," said Cori Debrusk, Franchisee of Mr. Lube's Thunder Bay location. "We're looking forward to serving Mr. Boyd for many years to come."

The car, already customized to Boyd's specifications, will be given away on Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 at 645 West Arthur Street, Thunder Bay, Ontario at 1 p.m. Media and local photographers are invited to attend and join in the celebration.
