OTTAWA, July 20, 2016 /CNW/ - Métis Nation of Ontario President Margaret Froh will be providing comments on the to-be-released final report of the Ministerial Special Representative Report on Métis Section 35 Rights tomorrow.

In June 2015, Mr. Thomas Isaac (a Calgary-based lawyer with expertise on Aboriginal legal issues) was appointed as Ministerial Special Representative on Métis Section 35 Rights. On July 10, 2015, Mr. Isaac met with the Métis Nation of Ontario's (MNO) leadership as part of the process of preparing his report.

President Froh said, "We look forward to this long awaited report. We believe that Mr. Isaac will provide helpful insights as we move forward on advancing our nation-to-nation relationship with the Government of Canada and making progress on advancing the reconciliation with the Métis Nation called for by Section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982."
