TORONTO, July 3 /CNW/ - Members of the Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) will march in Sunday's Toronto Gay Pride Parade.
The registered nurses, allied health professionals and staff, their friends and family members will be easy to spot - they'll be riding in a convertible, waving Cutting Nurses, Cutting Care placards and distributing buttons to onlookers.
ONA has a strong human rights and equity group and the RNs will be joined by ONA board member Andy Summers, RN. Summers also sits on ONA's Human Rights and Equity Committee, with a mandate to ensure respect and dignity for all.
ONA is the union representing 55,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals, as well as more than 12,000 nursing student affiliates providing care in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community and industry.
