OTTAWA, May 30, 2017 /CNW/ - The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) will hold a technical briefing via teleconference on Thursday, June 1, at 1:30 p.m. to brief media on its decision following the next-generation 9-1-1 emergency services proceeding. This decision will eventually enable Canadians to send text messages, photos and videos to 9-1-1 call centres.

Shortly before this technical briefing, the CRTC will provide embargoed information and documentation via email. Experts will be on the line to go through a presentation and to answer questions from the media.
