TORONTO, Jan. 14 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, January 19, Assembly of First Nations National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo will address Toronto's business community. The event marks Chief Atleo's first address in Toronto and the first time any AFN National Chief has spoken to the Toronto Board of Trade. National Chief Atleo will discuss:
- The First Nations vision of economic self-sufficiency, business
partnerships and the importance of education
- The need for indigenous people to take a leadership role in balancing
development opportunities and environmental conservations, and
- Why economic issues facing First Nations impact all Canadians
The Toronto Board of Trade and the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business last year announced a partnership giving select CCAB members access to the Board of Trade's facilities in the heart of Toronto's financial district.
