Former Vice President of Communications at Crispin Porter + Bogusky
Joins Network Fulltime in Expanded Role
NEW YORK, NEW YORK, Oct. 13 /CNW/ - MDC Partners announced today the appointment of Katie Kempner to Sr. Vice President, Corporate Communications. In her new role, Katie will oversee all communications strategies for MDC Partners, and provide strategic communications counsel to all MDC Partners agencies.
Since 1996 Katie has served as Vice President, Director of Agency Communications for MDC Partners agency, Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Under her media guidance, the agency and their work have received tremendous recognition, been featured in numerous national and international business publications including the covers of Fast Company and Businessweek, as well as on a multitude of television and radio programs and have been named Agency of the Year 12 times in the trade press. In her role at CP+B, Katie also served as an ongoing media consultant to many of CP+B's clients, working with the marketing and business press. For the past four years, Katie also hosted and produced the popular internet radio and iTunes podcast, "The Hook with Katie Kempner" which featured insightful and idea provoking conversations with many thought leaders and journalists in the advertising, marketing, public relations and creative branding arenas. She is considered an industry expert and is a frequent speaker and moderator for public relations events. Katie is a former Chairwoman of the American Association of Advertising Agencies Public Relations Committee.
In January of 2004 while continuing to run the CP+B PR department, Katie joined MDC Partners, as VP/Director of Corporate Communications where she handled MDC Partners corporate communications and acted as a media consultant to their agencies. In her newly expanded role, Katie will oversee the brand management of MDC Partners at the network level as well as ensure that all member agencies are maximizing their media opportunities at every level. She will help member agencies, as a senior member of the Strategic Resources Group, develop cross platform measurable and sustainable media objectives and ensure that systems are in place where MDC agencies can deliver on their key media objectives. She will also develop a network wide social media presence that all agencies can tap into and benefit from.
"Katie joined us when we were Crispin and Porter, an agency of 40 people, and she's been a key component in our success," said Chuck Porter, Co-Chairman, Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Chief Strategist, MDC Partners. "This is a great opportunity for her to expand her role and influence, while still working with CP+B on special projects. I'd call it a win-win if that wasn't such cliché."
"Katie is one of the great communication strategists in the industry and we are very excited that she will now be working with us in a much expanded capacity," said Miles Nadal, Chairman and CEO, MDC Partners. "I've worked with Katie for a number of years and seen the incredible success she has achieved with CP+B. Over the past few years she has begun to work more closely with our agencies and the fact that we will now be able to utilize her expertise across the entire network is an invaluable tool for all of our agencies. This is another example of how MDC Partners has assembled a best in class roster of thought leaders like no other in the industry that are here to serve as a great resource to all of our agencies."
