TORONTO, April 21 /CNW/ - Markham resident Barbara Coode is Ontario's newest millionaire, as she is the winner of the April 14th LOTTO 6/49 draw for $3,551,365.
"I was sitting down doing my happy dance," said Coode. "I had a dream that I won, and it came true!"
The largest amount Coode has ever won was $1,000 on Wintario, many years ago.
The 58-year old plans to share her new windfall with family and plans for a nice retirement.
Since LOTTO 6/49 was launched in June 1982, Ontario players have won more than $8.8 billion in prizes, including 1,176 jackpot wins. As of January 30, 2010, there have been 2,716 LOTTO 6/49 draws.
The winning ticket was bought at Loblaws at McCowan Market on Bullock Drive in Markham, Ontario.
