TORONTO, Nov. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Lymphoma Canada is pleased to announce
the appointment of Robin Markowitz as Chief Executive Officer,
effective December 4, 2013.
Ms. Markowitz brings 25 years of non-profit and charitable experience in
senior leadership, development, marketing, and volunteer management.
She is a transformational leader, most recently having worked as
National Director of Development at Osteoporosis Canada. Robin also has
eight years of experience working with the lymphoma community in her
role as National Director of Development & Marketing at Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society of Canada.
"I am honoured to lead Lymphoma Canada in their mission to support
lymphoma patients and their families, fund vital research and advocate
for the best treatments available. I look forward to working with the
dedicated team of volunteers, donors, staff, Scientific Advisory Board
and Board of Directors to further our reach within the lymphoma
Ms. Markowitz replaces Sue Robson, Executive Director, who led the
organization for four years before her decision to transition into a
part-time position at Lymphoma Canada as Director of Advocacy &
Stakeholder Relations, beginning February 1, 2014.

increase our capacity to expand nationally and achieve our mission,"

Lymphoma in Canada
Lymphoma is the fifth most common cancer in Canada. As of 2013,
approximately 81,000 Canadians are living with lymphoma. It affects
many people, from patients, family and caregivers, to medical
professionals and researchers and incidence is on the rise in young
adults and children. Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that develops
when an error in the production of lymphocytes, a type of white blood
