Lt.-Gen. Romeo Dallaire and Clara Hughes to speak at GrowCanada conference

CALGARY, Dec. 1, 2015 /CNW/ - Lt.-Gen. the Hon. Roméo Dallaire (Ret'd) and six-time Olympic medalist Clara Hughes will be highlight speakers at the GrowCanada conference, the premier agriculture event of the year.

Over the course of the two-day conference, various speakers will explore the theme Agriculture Beyond Borders – how Canadian agriculture continues to drive innovation to help address the world's most pressing challenges, while remaining competitive and relevant in international markets.

Additional speakers at the GrowCanada conference include:

  • Jim Carroll, futurist, trends, and innovation expert
  • Vikram Vij, chef, restaurateur, entrepreneur
  • Dr. Maurice Moloney, executive director and CEO, Global Institute for Food Security (GIFS)
  • Water, agriculture and food – future opportunities and challenges panel:
    • James Snider, vice-president, freshwater program, World Wildlife Fund Canada
    • Ryan Yates, director of congressional relations, American Farm Bureau Federation
    • Brent Paterson, president, Paterson Earth and Water Consulting

The GrowCanada conference brings together approximately 500 leaders in Canadian agriculture to exchange ideas, explore cutting edge insights and build a stronger and more vibrant Canadian agricultural sector that ultimately contributes to a better world.
