Louis Vachon is Finance et Investissement's Financial Personality of the Year

MONTREAL, Feb. 4, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Louis Vachon, President and CEO of National Bank of Canada, has been named Financial Personality of the Year in Finance et Investissement's annual Top 25 ranking of Quebec's financial sector.

A jury of industry personalities and observers awarded the title to Mr. Vachon at a gala at Saint James's Club in Montreal. This is the second time in three years that he has been honored at the event.

The award recognizes Mr. Vachon's success implementing an ambitious business plan in 2014. Not only did National Bank post a record-breaking 14% jump in profits over 2013, but the value of NB common shares has tripled since 2009, reaching $100 in August 2014 (taking into account a share split in 2014). A growing clientele and employee engagement have been key factors in the bank's success.

Other members of the financial community ranked in the Top 25 of Quebec's financial industry for 2014 include André R. Chabot of Triasima Portfolio Management, Monique Gravel of CIBC Wood Gundy, Isabelle Hudon of Sun Life Financial Canada, and Sylvain Brosseau and Jean-Guy Desjardins of Fiera Capital.
